Effects
Select clips on the timeline, then pick something in the Library — Effects, Transitions, Looks or Text — and it applies to all of them at once (one undo). The Inspector shows everything about the selected clip: its effects in the order they run, every parameter, the presets, and the colour, speed and transition.
Parameters are fractions of the frame (shown as percentages), so an effect looks the same in the preview and in a 4K export.
Effects
| Group | Effects | | ------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | Motion | Zoom (Punch in on beat, Slow push, Ken Burns, Zoom out reveal, Zoom pulse), Shake, Spin / Roll, Mirror / Kaleidoscope, Split screen | | Time | Echo / Slow shutter — trails of the previous frames, exact while playing and in the export | | Colour | Black & white, Duotone, Colour pop (keeps one hue) | | Light | Flash / Blink, Glow / Bloom, Halation, Lens flare, Light leak | | Blur | Blur, Motion blur, Zoom blur, Tilt-shift | | Stylize | Film grain, Vignette, RGB split, Glitch / VHS, Letterbox, Pixelate, Posterize, Sharpen |
Each effect can be switched off without removing it, moved up or down (effects run top to bottom), or set to a preset. Overlay clips (light leaks, dust, flares you upload as overlay videos) go on an Overlays track above the edit and are screened over it; Blend in the Inspector also has Add, Overlay, Multiply and Soft light.
On the beat
Once the song has its beat grid, effects can fire on it: Beat sync in an effect's card — every beat, every 2 beats, every bar, every 2 bars or every 4 bars. The Library's On the beat group has ready ones: flash on every bar, zoom pulse on beats, punch in on every bar, RGB split on beats, shake on every bar, glitch every 2 bars. They follow the grid when you fix it.
Keyframes
The ◇ next to a value adds a keyframe at the playhead; ◆ means the playhead is on one (click to remove it). Once a value has keyframes, changing it changes the keyframe at the playhead — move the playhead and change it again to animate. ‹ › jump between keyframes; Ease into this keyframe shapes the way into it. Position, scale, rotation, opacity, volume and the main parameters of each effect can be animated.
Transitions
Transition in on a clip (or the Transitions tab) puts a transition on its cut, half before and half after: Cross dissolve, Dip to colour, Flash, Zoom in / out, Whip pan, Spin, Glitch, Light leak, Blur dissolve, Slide / Push and Luma fade. They are 8 frames long by default (4–30).
Colour
Choose a look — twenty of Creator's own (Teal & Orange, Warm Film, Moody, Golden Hour, Neon Night, …) or a .cube LUT you upload on the Media page — with its strength, then adjust exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, whites, blacks, temperature, tint, saturation and vibrance. This clip colours one clip; All of a take colours every clip of it that has no colour of its own.
Speed
- Constant — 5 % to 800 %, with Slow 50 %, Slow 25 % and Fast 200 %; Reverse plays it backwards. The clip keeps its length; a speed that would run past the end of the take is refused.
- Ramp — Montage, Hero, Bullet, Flash in and Flash out, or your own points (where in the clip, and how fast).
- Freeze — holds one frame of the take.
- Boomerang — the first half forwards, then the same moment backwards. Synced takes can't play backwards: it would take them off the song.
Text
Add a title from the Text tab, plain or in a preset: Pop, Fade up, Typewriter, Slide, Scale bounce, Glitch, Neon glow, Outline, Highlight box, Karaoke, Lower third and Big title. In the Inspector: the words, the font (twelve bundled families — Geist, Inter, Montserrat, Space Grotesk, Bebas Neue, Anton, Oswald, Playfair Display, DM Serif Display, Permanent Marker, Pacifico, JetBrains Mono — or fonts you upload and have the right to use), weight, size, colour, outline, shadow or glow, a box behind, a karaoke highlight that lights the words one by one, and how the title comes in and goes out.
