What Creator stores

Your account: your email address, your name and the id of your account at the SSO, the sign-in service of the operator's apps; your editor defaults and time zone.
Your projects: the edit, markers, notes, labels and ratings, and their versions.
Your uploads: songs and other audio, looks (LUTs), fonts, images and overlay videos you upload.
Media made from your Crate library: light proxies, poster frames, filmstrips, waveforms and audio analysis of the videos and photos you add to Creator.
Renders: the videos you export.
Transcripts: the words recognised in audio you transcribe, with their times. Transcription runs on Creator's own server; no third-party service receives your audio.
Technical logs: events with ids (for example which job ran), never file names, titles, notes or transcripts.

The connection to Crate

When you connect Crate, Creator reads your library to show it in the picker and downloads the files you add (web copies to make proxies, originals when you export). Creator only reads; it never changes or deletes anything in Crate. The access tokens are stored encrypted on Creator's server and never reach your browser. You can disconnect in Creator (Settings → Connections) or in Crate (Settings → Account → Connected apps).

Cookies and browser storage

Creator uses only what it needs to work; no tracking, no advertising, no analytics.

Processors

Hetzner Online GmbH (Gunzenhausen, Germany) hosts Creator's server and object storage in data centres in Germany or Finland, under a data processing agreement.

Legal basis and retention

Creator processes your data to provide the service you use (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and to keep it secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Your data stays until you delete it or your account. Projects in the trash are deleted after 30 days. Deleting your account removes all of your data within a day; backups are overwritten within 14 days.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR). You can export and delete your data in Settings → Account, or write to the operator. You may complain to a data protection supervisory authority.
